On October 14, 1995, Tupac gets his Death Row Records medallion from Suge Knight while in the studio recording „All Eyez On Me„.

The Making Of „All Eyez On Me“ Song

Johnny J: “That was the very first track I laid when we got together at death row. When he just got out of jail, just got released, two days later he’s like “J get to the studio, i’m with Death Row now.” I assumed it was a joke, somebody perpetrating 2pac. I’m like “Hell no-‘Pac is locked up!” He’s like “J, i’m out” I walk in, 15 minutes into the session, the first beat I put in the drum machine is “All Eyez On Me” I wasn’t going to show him the track, honestly. I was like, “This track? Nah, it’s not finished. It’s imcomplete.” My wife says, “Hey, it’s a dope beat!” So I just pop it in, Titles just come right off his fuckin’ head.“

Big Syke: “ ‘Pac was going on the pac of, “If you don’t have no lyrics by the time I finish doing this first verse, your ass ain’t on the song.” He’d finish it. It was a test anytime he picked up the pen. It was like, “Nigga, on your mark, get set, go. And you better have some cutting shit.”

On November 07, 1995, the wrongful death lawsuit against Tupac for the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old Marin City, Calif., boy has been settled after the testimony of just two witnesses.

Attorneys for Tupac and for Ocita Teal of Marin City and Darrell Walker of Texas, parents of victim Qa’id Walker-Teal, declined to divulge the amount of the settlement. The boy was killed in Marin City in 1992 by a bullet fired from a .38-caliber Colt handgun belonging to Tupac.

Tupac’s lawyer, Dennis Cunningham  called the gunshots „legitimate,“ saying Harding had fired above the heads of the crowd after being attacked. As for the rapper’s instruction to „get the gun,“ Cunningham said, „Whatever Shakur said was in the heat of the moment.“

Cunningham added that the boy’s death was „a ridiculous thing to have happened,“ but said, „It is painful for me to think that the mother had nothing but money on her mind“ in filing the lawsuit.

Tupac agrees to pay the boy’s parents an amount between $300,000 and $500,000 to settle the case.

Tupac did not attend the trial.

Kidada Jones: “Tupac Was The Love Of My Life.“

Pac was known for being with a lot of women but Kidada Jones (daughter of world famous Grammy nominated/winner, Quincy Jones) happened to stay with Pac for quite some time. It’s still a long-standing rumour that they were engaged at the time of his death, which I think is true. According to sources, he was on his way to see Kidada the night he was shot in Las Vegas.

I’ve always found their relationship mysterious, but in a non-harmful way. No one, besides Kidada and Pac knew what really went down with their relationship. I just felt like sharing this “short glimpse” due to my admiration for Pac and his artwork. Kidada shares, how her father didn’t like Pac to begin with and how his death had an impact on her. I hope you will enjoy reading this as much as I did.

“Tupac was the love of my life.

My father didn’t like Tupac at first. Tupac said in an interview in the The Source magazine, “Interracial couples. Quincy Jones is disgusting. “All he does is stick his d–k in white b—hes and make f–ked up kids.” That made Daddy mad.

In a 1993 interview with The Source Magazine, the late rapper called out Quincy Jones for his relationships with white women. Actually, that grossly undersells what happened. Pac, in his typically blunt fashion, was quoted as saying “All he does is stick his dick in white bitches and make fucked up kids.”

While Tupac was certainly not the first person to criticize the musician for his relationships with white women, the conversation leapt from the card tables and barbershops of the world onto the the glossy pages of a popular national magazine. Not to mention that Pac directed his venom not only at Quincy Jones, but his innocent childen, including Rashida.

rashida-jones-letter-to-tupac-the-source1-600x446My sister wrote back a nasty letter to The Source and they printed it. Not only that, two white girls in San Francisco wrote letters to the editor that said, “If you don’t like white people, what about when you hung with us?” Anyway, I met Tupac at a club after that and he said, “I want to apologize to you. I didn’t mean that about your dad or you. I didn’t see you as real human beings. Now that I see you…” He was all game. He was trying to get a play, let’s face it, but I liked him. I didn’t tell my dad about it, because I thought there’d be trouble.

Tupac and Kidada Jones..We started dating steadily, and one night Tupac and I were sitting in a booth at Jerry’s Deli in LA and these two hands slammed down on Tupac’s shoulder from behind. We jumped up, and there was Dad standing there. He said to Tupac, “I need to kick it with you for a minute.” This was the first time they’d met, so he took Tupac to a booth and they sat and got real for a long time. They stood up and hugged when it was over and they got along fine from then on. Tupac was excited because him and Snoop Doggy Dogg hoped to do this movie that Dad was producing called Pimp, based on the Iceberg Slim book that every other rapper in America also wanted to do. He never got to it, though.

Tupac and Kidada Jones, August, 1996.He and I lived together for four months and then he was murdered in Las Vegas in 1996. It was the most horrible thing that ever happened to me.

I knew we should’ve never gone to Vegas that night. I had a horrible feeling about it. I’ve gone over it in my mind a million times. It wasn’t supposed to happen. We weren’t supposed to be there. It was the worst possible thing that could’ve happened –I still to this day don’t know who shot him. I wasn’t able to say goodbye. It’s not something that should happen to anyone.

We were at the Luxor Hotel and he went to a party. He said, “I’m not taking you. There been a fight with a Crip and it’s not safe. So you stay here.” So I waited in our suite for him to come back. I lay down and was going to sleep when I got a call. They said, “Pac’s been shot.”

I was like, “Okay.” He’d been shot five times before that. I said “Where was he hit? In the leg, an arm? No big deal.” When I got to the hospital they handed me a bag of bloody clothes and jewelry and told me, fusions and he is in the ICU hanging by a string.”

I got a blanket from the hospital and circled the parking lot for nine hours. I said, “There’s no way he’s gonna die. There’s just no way.” I walked around there till the sun came up and I had to keep my head down because I felt like I was going to projectile vomit all over the place. I wanted to explode, just come out of my skin. I was in complete physical shock.

My mom was in New York and she flew down to Vegas. Here’s my white Jewish mom, you know, praying with Pac’s family, the ghetto family for real, you know? She’s doing praying sessions with this conjure lady from Tupac’s family who had called me and Tupac just a week before, telling us, “I see Tupac settling in Vegas.”

I said “There’s no way he’s settling in Vegas.”

And then, a week later, he was definitely settled in Vegas. For good. He died at 4:30 P.M. a few days later. For a while afterward, I didn’t want to be alive. I was on my back, literally on my back for months. My father underestimated how that affected me and shaped and molded me as a human being.  In a way, accepting Tupac was his way of acknowledging- my pain, and my struggle to find myself- and for that I love him.“

The Greatest Rappers of All Time

Tupac’s Hummer Was Sold Again For $337,144

$

On May 19, 2016, the auction ended at RR Auctions. The winner is a Tupac fan and collector from the Midwest who wishes to remain anonymous, RR Auction said. After Tupac’s death, the Hummer had several owners, including his late mother Afeni Shakur Davis.

Since 1996, it hasn’t covered much ground. The odometer reads just 10,101 miles. A bunch of upgrades, like driving lights, a sound system and external PA, and diamond-plate bumpers, are present and were allegedly added by Shakur. The Hummer has a 6.5-liter turbodiesel V8 and automatic transmission.

According to the seller, after being owned by Shakur and then, after his death, his mother Afeni Shakur, the Hummer went through a variety of owners. This includes BET, which gave the car away during a raffle in 2003, the owners of Havenotz Entertainment, and the mother of the rapper Yaki „Prince“ Kadafi who was a „godbrother“ of Shakur. The included vanity plate reads „YAKNPAK„, a nod to both Kadafi and Shakur. The vehicle is currently in Canada.

So, this 1996 American Motors Hummer, a model that preceded the Hummer H1, was the last vehicle ever purchased by the late Tupac Shakur.

According to the dates on the title and the moment of his untimely death, the rapper only owned this car for about a month. In that period, this car was also customized according to the wishes of “America’s Most Wanted.”

If you ask us, this is probably what made this vehicle worth more than just a regular Hummer that was owned by Tupac. After all, many artists have cars that are entirely stock, and that only differentiate themselves in the parking lot by the color choice and the license plate. Some say that Tupac’s car was worth more than any other not just because it was the last vehicle purchased by the star.

Instead, we think it sold for $337,144 at RR Auction because it was customized to Tupac Amaru Shakur’s wishes. You can’t buy that anywhere else, and anything else would just be a replica, and not the real deal.

1995-11-30 / Randy ‘Stretch’ Walker Was Deadly Shot

Stretch was deadly shot, november 30, 1995On November 30, 1995, Stretch was being chased by at least two men in a black car when he was shot at least four times, crashing his minivan at the corner of 112th Avenue and 209th Street in Queens Village just after 12:30 A.M., said Lieut. Vito R. Spano, commander of the detective squad in the 105th Precinct.

Stretch was on his way home after dropping off his brother, Chris, 23, when the car chase began and he was struck by bullets, at least two fired through his back, relatives and the police said. A father of one, he towered at 6 foot 8 inches, friends said, and was more often the one to cool tempers than start trouble.

His death occurred one year almost to the minute from the incident last Nov. 30 when he and Mr. Shakur walked into a Times Square building housing a recording studio, and Mr. Shakur was robbed and seriously wounded. The shootings were one year and about five minutes apart,“ Lieutenant Spano said. „It’s weird.“

Tupac could not be reached for comment.

Stretch lived with his mother, Lucilda, a native of Jamaica who came to the United States 29 years ago and, after the death of her husband in 1981, raised their two sons and two daughters alone, working as a nursing attendant at New York University Medical Center. „He never talked to me about having enemies,“ Mrs. Walker said yesterday.

„My son was a very loving, kind person. I don’t know why they did this to him.“

More for Stretch

Stretch was close friends with Ed Lover from ‘Yo! MTV Raps’ who got Live Squad signed to the record label “Tommy Boy” where in 1992 they released their first double A side single “Murderahh/Heartless” (from where Pac’s „Heartless“ tattoo takes it homage).

Stretch and Tupac
Stretch and Tupac

Stretch started performing in shows with Tupac, appearing in his music videos and he produced songs on the albums “2Pacalypse Now”, “Strictly 4 My Niggaz”, “Thug Life Volume 1” and the scrapped album “Troublesome 21” (from which most of the tracks were later used for “Me Against the World” and „R U Still Down?“).

In some of Pac’s early work a company called “Grand Imperial Thug Music” is credited whenever Live Squad appear on or produce a Tupac record, although Stretch or Majesty are not named for any of the production in the „Thug Life“ booklet this same company is credited for production for a lot tracks on the album and it is my understanding that “Grand Imperial Thug Music” is Tupac plus Live Squad meaning Stretch and Majesty helped produce „Thug Life Volume 1„; “Grand Imperial Records” went on to become a record company co-owned by Majesty and Queens rapper E-Moneybags who recorded a few songs with Live Squad and Tupac, most notably the track “Big Time” which was released in 2001.

In 1993 Tupac, Stretch and the Notorious B.I.G. starting hanging and performing shows together, during this period the three made several songs together which remain unreleased.
Stretch was with Tupac when he was shot in New York on November 30th, 1994.

Tupac and Stretch were still friends until Pac was sent to jail on 14th February 1995 but their friendship quickly deteriorated after Tupac learned that Stretch was still doing shows with the Notorious B.I.G. after he had accused him of being involved with the New York shooting, Pac felt like Stretch had sided with Bad Boy while he was locked up, In a Vibe interview Tupac went on to insinuate that Stretch never tried to help him during the shooting which Stretch responded to in another Vibe interview. Tupac sent a letter from jail and in the footer are the names of all people he considered his enemies struck out, Stretch’s name is last.

The only time Stretch is ever mentioned by Tupac again is on the song Against All Odds’ from Makaveli when he says “and that nigga that was down for me, rest his head, switched sides, guess his new friends wanted him dead”.

Daz speaks on the true story on how the song „I got my mind made up“ was originally put together. He goes on to explain that Dr. Dre’ attempted to take credit for the Beat. He’s now trying to help Red Man and Method Man receive their proper publishing.

Tupac, Krupt and Daz are the only ones getting publishing for the „I got my mind made up“ on the Tupac Death Row album „All eyes on me“. Lady of Rage and Inspectah Deck were originally supposed to be on the song. Dre’ told Tupac he did the beat at first but later Daz Dillinger made clear to Tupac it was in fact his beat!
